I started writing for publication about twelve years ago, writing theater reviews for local community playhouses for small town newspapers.  As a previous theater owner, I composed actor bios for publication in theater play bills, audition notices, and brief articles about theater productions for advertising purposes.  I spent many years involved in all aspects of community theater, including administration, box office, costumes, publicity, choreography, directing, painting, building sets, and running the light board; however, my most enjoyable aspect of the theater was, and remains, being on stage.  As an amateur thespian, pianist, singer and dancer, I have performed in over many productions over the past twenty years.  Some of my favorite roles include Joanne Galloway in A Few Good Men, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun, Sister Amnesia in Nunsense and Nunsense II, and Clementine Greedy, the villainess in my very first production, a musical melodrama entitled Tumbleweeds.

While my imagination has been hard at work for years, I have only recently started writing for pleasure.  Several years ago a co-worker and I were discussing one of my many story ideas and she said that I should write a book.  I told her that I couldn’t possibly write a book and she asked me if I had ever tried.  That question has remained with me ever since.  It is my goal to one day call her and tell her that not only have I tried to write a book, but I succeeded and that it is possible for her to buy it and read it.

For two years I was President of the Sacramento Chapter of RWA.

In July of 2015, I moved to Vicksburg, Mississippi, with my husband, my widowed father, and my 11-year old Lab, Sherlock, to begin my new life as an innkeeper. To learn more about my "other life," please visit baerhouseinn.ms.
